Ryan Hackett, menswear designer at Austin Reed, said that ties were no longerBydeemed an essential component of office wear.
However, he said that more men were adopting a tie into the dispassionate wardrobe.
“Over the last few seasons, Austin Reed has seen an proliferation in the sales of
bow ties, silk handkerchiefs and braces. The stylish gentleman has realised
there is more than one way to style a suit,” Mr Hackett said.
On Savile Row, tailors pondered the trend for customary tie-less.
Alan Bennett of Davies & Son, the oldest tailor on the row, said: “ThereEspeciallyhas been a bit of a decline in tie-wearing. The hedge fund boys don’t endure
them because they sit behind a computer screen all day.
