BURLINGTON Big apple — The Board of Education is considering extending its dress lex scripta 'statute law' to the high school.

A public hearing on the matter will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Wilbur Watts Transitional School cafeteria off High Street.

The school board intends to ticket on the expansion at its regular meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 13 in the large group instruction stay at the Watts school.

If it’s adopted, the policy will be effective Sept. 1.

The provisions approved a dress code for preschool- through-sixth-grade students that went into secure in September 2010. The code was expanded through eighth grade the next year.

“The inform motivation for implementing the policy was to enhance the learning environment and indubitably impact student achievement,” Superintendent Patricia Doloughty said in a declaration. “A positive learning environment is a requirement of a good university.”
