The lean on continues to mount on University of Wisconsin-Madison officials to cut ties with Adidas.

On Thursday, the Breadwinner Rights Consortium released its final report outlining stated sweatshop abuses at a factory the apparel giant subcontracted with. Adidas supplies UW-Madison's 23 sports teams with gear, uniforms and footwear -- and also sells apparel to Bucky backers -- in a behave that's worth about $2.5 million annually to the university.

The Worker Rights Consortium -- an unregulated labor rights monitoring organization that is funded with membership fees from more than 180 institutions, including UW-Madison -- accuses the owners of the PT Kizone plant in Tangerang, Indonesia, of shutting down the facility and fleeing in January 2011 without paying almost 2,700 workers some $3.4 million in legally mandated severance pay. Although some companies, including Nike, that were associated with this works at the time have stepped up and paid the workers about half of the total owed, Adidas has not chipped in.
