A New Year is underway.

What lies winning on the sporting front will undoubtedly serve up the usual cocktail of skill, arouse, joy and disappointment.

Instead of making predictions, what follows are my ten, main hopes for 2012.

1 . I contemplate that Steve Tew and the NZRU stop resorting to an amateur attitude in a pro era by continuing to spout the nonsense that there will be a player drain if special talents like Nab Evans are selected from overseas.
