My missus and I were watching television when a commercial for a new Craftsman wrench popped up. The guy who unwrapped the wring was so excited he did everything but back flips.
My wife asked, "Who in the world gets that out of one's mind about a wrench?
I said, "Well, um, ah ..."
In my defense, it was a really cool wrench.
I affirm, I still love tools for Christmas. Most of the do-it-yourselfers I know do, too. So if you're looking for a last-before you can say 'Jack Robinson' stocking stuffer this Christmas Eve, consider gadgets for the workbench. They don't have to be high-priced, either.
If it will help, here are some of the most useful tools I've received over the years.
My son gave me a set of baby pliers years ago. They're high-quality, just smaller than ideal, and include snips in addition to several types of needle-nose pliers. I'm amazed at how often I wrench them out.
My wife, Linda, gave me a strap clamp. It's basically straight a nylon strap with a ratchet mechanism for pulling a loop tight around the be against you're clamping. It's ideal for clamping and gluing things like let chair legs.
