WEST NEWBURY — Two inexperienced women, including a recent Pentucket Regional High School graduate, were at face value injured early yesterday morning following a horrific one-car fall that partially ejected the driver after the car rolled down a ravine.
The driver has been identified by West Newbury the gendarmes as Ashley E. Koen, 20, of 32 Groveland Common, Groveland. Koen was transported to Anna Jaques Infirmary in Newburyport before being taken to a Boston-area hospital later in the day.
The front-settle passenger, Mary Kate McDonough, 18, of 214 Particular St., West Newbury, remained trapped in the vehicle, straddling the front and care for of the vehicle. A 2011 graduate of Pentucket, she was taken to Lawrence Miscellaneous Hospital and later to another Boston-area hospital, according to West Newbury oversee.
West Newbury police Chief Lisa Holmes called their injuries very serious. She said neither of them were wearing site belts.
